Fair Housing Statement
Equal housing opportunity is not a policy we keep in a drawer. It is how we run every application.
Eastern Properties Group is committed to equal housing opportunity. We comply with the federal Fair Housing Act and Maryland fair housing law.
Who is protected
We do not discriminate against any applicant or tenant on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, source of income, or military status. Some local jurisdictions provide additional protections, and we follow those as well.
Source of income
All lawful sources of income are treated equally, including housing vouchers and subsidies. We apply the same rental criteria to every applicant, and we do not screen anyone out because of where their income comes from.
Reasonable accommodations
If you need a reasonable accommodation or a modification because of a disability, at any point during the application process or your tenancy, contact us at (240) 580-8581 or [email protected] and we will work with you. Our Accessibility Statement covers how we handle the same requests for this website.
Assistance animals
Assistance animals are not pets. We do not charge pet fees, pet rent, or an additional application fee for an assistance animal.
If you believe you have been treated unfairly
Tell us first if you are comfortable doing so, because some things we can fix immediately. You can reach us through the contact page. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights or the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and using that right will never affect how we treat your application or tenancy.
How we apply our criteria
Every applicant is screened against the same written criteria. What we look at is published in advance: credit history, income verification, rental history, and a criminal history review conducted in line with Maryland law. Our Tenant Screening page explains each step. To see what is available now, browse Available Rentals. When you are ready to be considered, start with the pre-qualification form. Renter Resources answers the questions that come up most often before an application, and our tenant services page lists what residents can ask us for once they move in.
